Key Performance Areas:

This Scranton based position is responsible for professional inventory management, effective use of capital resources, with full balancing of Sandvik’s world class customer service.

 

Responsibilities will include daily contact with manufacturing, purchasing and sales functions.   The position will report to the Wire Group Materials Manager.

 

Your Profile:

The successful candidate will possess:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or relevant Business discipline.

·         Two to five years relevant experience

·         Demonstrable skills using Microsoft Office Products. (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

·         Experience working with an ERP application Software package in a manufacturing environment.

·         Strong interpersonal skills in the areas of communication, organization, and collaboration

·         High motivation to succeed, self starter, team player

 Commodity Manager

 

Our Syracuse , NY client has retained us to identify a Commodity Manager to manage their sustained growth within the world market.  Company manufacturers FDA regulated products so a background in food, pharmaceutical, or chemicals is necessary.  In this position you will identify primary and secondary sources of supply.  Because most raw materials are commodity driven knowledge of contractual risk, long term forecasts, and hedging is required.  Reporting to the Corporate Director of Supply Chain you’re in depth analysis and statistical reference will guide the strategic procurement of raw materials used in the manufacture and packaging of their products.  Some other key words include; spend analysis, supplier identification – certification – periodic audit, efforts that lead to better working relationships on the company and vendor side, constant review of best quality – best price – best delivery scenario’s.  A strong track record of success in the aforementioned is required as is a BS or BA Degree.  An excellent compensation and benefits package makes this a very attractive opportunity within a company that is a leader in their field.  Relocation is offered.  Please email your resume to:

Job Description and Major Responsibilities

 

This is a new start-up position and is open due to growth and restructuring.  Our client is seeking a Materials Manager who will manage the financial resources of the operation.  This position will report to the Plant Operations Manager and will be responsible for putting together the plant P&L and controlling the plant performance measurement functions at a start up facility employing 100 individuals. 


The Materials Manager will be responsible for managing the purchasing, inventory control, shipping and receiving functions. Other responsibilities will include: Overseeing production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Interface with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments. Collecting and analyzing key plant performance measures.

 


Education and Requirements:

 

  1. Bachelors’ degree required.
  2. 5-7 years manufacturing experience in material control with financial/accounting background.
  3. Proficiency in MS Office.
  4. Experience in a high volume non-union environment preferred.
  5. Successful candidate must possess a passion for customer satisfaction; a proven track record of controlling the flow of raw material $’s and finished product $’s.
  6. High energy, strong participative leadership skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a sensitivity to people required.
